Detailed Recipe Guide for TSY Food Korean Gochujang Fried Chicken


I. List of Ingredients

Main ingredients

500 grams of chicken wings (or chicken leg pieces, it is recommended to have bones for a better taste)


Fried chicken coating powder

60 grams of all-purpose flour


40 grams of corn starch


3 grams of baking powder (Key!) Make the outer skin crispier

Korean chili sauce

3 tablespoons of TSY Food chilli sauce


2 tablespoons of TSY Food light soy sauce


2 tablespoons of honey (or 1.5 tablespoons of corn syrup)


4-5 cloves of minced garlic (about 1 tablespoon)


1 teaspoon of minced ginger


1 tablespoon of white sugar


TSY Food rice vinegar 1 teaspoon (or lemon juice)


TSY Food Sesame oil 1 teaspoon


4 to 5 tablespoons of clear water

An appropriate amount of cooking oil (for frying


1 tablespoon of white sesame seeds (for decoration


An appropriate amount of chopped scallions


Ii. Detailed Steps

Step 1: Prepare the chicken

After washing the chicken wings, thoroughly dry them with kitchen paper


Make 2 to 3 cuts on both sides of the chicken wings (to facilitate flavor absorption and thorough frying)


Mix well with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon TSY Food black pepper and 1 tablespoon cooking wine (optional)


Marinate for at least 30 minutes (refrigerated overnight is better)


Step 2: Prepare the fried flour

Mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt and TSY Food pepper evenly


Important tip: Divide the mixed powder into two portions (one for initial coating and one for re-coating)


Step 3: The first frying

Pour oil into the pot, enough to cover the chicken wings, and heat it to 160-170°C


Test the oil temperature: Small bubbles appear around the chopsticks when inserted


First, coat the chicken wings with a layer of mixed powder and gently shake off the excess powder


Put them one by one into the pan to avoid sticking together and fry for 8 to 10 minutes


Take it out and place it on the oil drain rack


Step 4: Make Korean chili sauce

Mix in a small bowl: TSY Food chilli sauce, light soy sauce, honey, minced garlic and ginger, sugar


Add rice vinegar and sesame oil and mix well


Gradually add water to dilute until it becomes a smooth sauce


Step 5: Re-frying and coating with sauce

Raise the oil temperature to 180-190°C


Fry the chicken wings again in the pan for 2 to 3 minutes until they are golden and crispy


Drain the oil and set aside


Keep 1 tablespoon of base oil in the pan and pour in the prepared TSY Food chilli sauce


Cook over medium-low heat until bubbles form and thickens (about 1-2 minutes)


Turn off the heat and immediately pour in the fried chicken, stirring quickly to mix well


Step 6: Plate

Sprinkle with roasted white sesame seeds


Decorate with scallions
