Guangdong TSY Chili Sauce Factory: Process & Packaging Overview

We are a professional chili sauce manufacturing factory based in Guangdong, combining Lingnan flavors with modern technology to deliver safe and delicious chili sauce products. Below is an overview of our production process and three packaging types: PET plastic bottles, glass bottles, and small sachets.

Part 1: TSY Chili Sauce Production Process

1. Raw Material Sourcing & Preparation

  • Chilis, garlic, fermented black beans (douchi), etc., mainly sourced from certified farms in Guangdong and surrounding areas.

  • Incoming materials tested for pesticide residues and microorganisms before acceptance.

  • Chilis undergo bubble washing and ozone sterilization; some are de-seeded and chopped.

2. Crushing & Batching

  • Stainless steel crusher with adjustable settings: coarse crush (chunky sauces) or fine grinding (smooth sauces).

  • Computerized system automatically weighs sugar, salt, oil, and spices to ensure batch consistency.

3. Cooking & Fermentation

  • Steam-jacketed kettles heat to 85–100°C for 20–60 minutes, achieving pasteurization and flavor development.

  • Some products (e.g., black bean chili sauce) require temperature-controlled fermentation for 5–15 days to enhance umami and tangy notes.

4. Grinding & Quality Testing

  • Smooth sauces pass through a colloid mill or homogenizer to reach 20–50 microns.

  • Each batch tested for pH (3.8–4.5), water activity (<0.85), viscosity, and sensory attributes.

5. Filling & Sterilization

  • Filling in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom using piston or gravity fillers with ±0.5% accuracy.

  • Glass bottles: Tunnel pasteurization after capping (85–90°C, 15–30 min).

  • PET bottles: Hot-fill at 85–88°C, capped, inverted for 1–2 min, then spray-cooled.

  • Sachets: After filling and sealing, water bath or microwave pasteurization (85°C, 5–10 min).

6. Drying, Labeling & Packaging

  • Pass through air knife dryer, labeler, and laser coder (date/batch).

  • After metal detection and checkweighing, packed into shrink trays or cartons.

7. Warehousing & Distribution

  • Cool, dry warehouse (18–22°C), FIFO inventory. Temperature-controlled vehicles for delivery, maintaining cold chain as required.

A. PET Plastic Bottles (Lightweight & Unbreakable)

  • Sizes: 150ml / 250ml / 500ml / 750ml / 1L

  • Neck: 28mm or 38mm thread with flip-top / sports / tamper-evident caps

  • Advantages: Unbreakable, lightweight, squeezable, low cost, recyclable (#1 plastic)

  • Temp resistance: Hot-fill ≤88°C; not for retort

  • Best for: Squeeze chili sauces, casual dining, e-commerce, exports to breakage-prone regions

B. Glass Bottles (Premium & Flavor Preserving)

  • Sizes: 50ml / 120ml / 200ml / 330ml / 500ml / 750ml

  • Neck: 28–48mm thread or lug cap with PTFE liner / pry-off / wooden lid

  • Advantages: Zero oxygen transmission (indefinite shelf life), premium image, reusable, recyclable, heat-resistant (up to 121°C)

  • Best for: Premium chili sauces, fermented products, mid-to-upscale dining, gift packs

C. Small Sachets (Portion Control & Convenience)

  • Sizes: 5g / 10g / 12g / 15g / 20g / 25g / 50g

  • Structure: PET/Aluminum foil/PE 3-layer laminate; easy-tear or zipper options

  • Advantages: Portion control, 18–24 month shelf life, space-saving, hygienic, travel-friendly

  • Best for: Fast food, meal kits, airline meals, military rations, sample packs
